How to calibrate from the dascham
Important
The dashcam should first be installed at least 1.6 meters above the ground before beginning calibration in order for ADAS features to work effectively.
Notice
Enter the measurements in the units of measurement that are set for your dashcam.
If your dashcam has the Speed setting set to:
kilometers per hour - enter measurements in centimeters
miles per hour - enter measurements in inches
These settings can be changed from the Settings menu of the dascham, the Surfsight cloud, or MyGeotab.
To calibrate the road-facing ADAS through the settings menu of your dashcam:
Drive the vehicle at above 47MPH for around five minutes. Images from this drive are automatically obtained and saved to be used later in the calibration process.
Until your vehicle is calibrated, images are obtained and saved during every drive above 47MPH.
Park the vehicle safely.
After you’ve entered the vehicle and closed the door, press the touchscreen of the dashcam to view the PIN screen.
Enter the default PIN 3333 to unlock the dashcam for the first time, or your own PIN subsequently.
The screen unlocks and the menu appears.
Press Settings.
Scroll down to ADAS.
Toggle the button to turn calibration on.
The set up for the calibration process begins automatically.
Press the upper left and right arrow buttons to view various image options. These images are those obtained in step 1.
Select an image where you have a clear view of the road in front of your vehicle.
Enter the camera height, from the ground.
Important
The camera must be at least 160 centimeters above the ground.
Tip
The more exact the measurements used in calibration are, the better road-facing ADAS performs.
You can measure the distance from the ground to the floor of the vehicle, measure from the floor of the vehicle to the dashcam, and add the two measurements.
Another option is to measure from the ground to a point parallel in height to the dashcam.
Enter the rear axle width, from the outer edges of each tire.
Enter the camera offset, from the center of the windshield to the road-facing lens.
Enter a measurement taken to the right of the windshield center from inside the cabin as a positive number, and to the left as a negative number.
Adjust the height of the red line to mark the highest point where the dashboard or vehicle front is visible.
Adjust the rectangle to mark the edges of the left and right lanes.
Confirm the calibration layout.
Once the calibration layout is confirmed, your dashcam calibrates. This can be seen in the Settings menu.
